The optical cable is the product after the optical fiber is encapsulated, and its essence is the optical fiber + packaging, so the quality of the optical cable depends largely on the optical fiber. Through different packages, different optical cables can be obtained and applied in different scenarios.

The types of optical cables can be classified according to three methods: cable laying method, optical cable structure, and application scenarios.

Laying method: self-supporting overhead optical cable, pipeline optical cable, submarine optical cable, armored buried optical cable, etc.

Optical cable structure: bundled optical cable, stranded loose tube optical cable, skeleton optical cable, etc.

Application scenarios: long-distance communication optical cables, short-distance outdoor optical cables, hybrid optical cables, optical cables for buildings, etc.

Today we will introduce two commonly used optical cables:

Pipeline cable (GYTA): GYTA cable has a stranded loose tube structure. It is to put the optical fiber into the loose tube, and the tube is filled with waterproof compound, which has good waterproof performance and is suitable for the occasions where the pipeline laying method is the main method, and the overhead laying method can also be used.

Aerial optical cable (GYTS): compared with GYTA optical cable, GYTS optical cable has better resistance to lateral pressure, and is suitable for scenarios that require high lateral pressure on optical cables, such as sections where overhead laying method is the main method, or is used for the access of broadband for household and group customers and can also be used for the pipeline laying method.
